The existing transportation center, constructed in 2000, consists of a pre-engineered metal building that houses offices, conference and training rooms, meeting rooms, parts storage, dispatch, a multi-purpose room, break rooms, restrooms and bus maintenance areas. The addition consists of a 42' x 120' bus maintenance area, with an alternate for an additional 21' x 40' tire storage area. The new addition consists of a pre-engineered metal building superstructure framing with a 12' high CMU wall at the perimeters.
The support services building, also constructed in 2000, encloses offices, conference rooms, a break room, reception areas, restrooms, a high-bay warehouse/storage area, conditioned storage, a truck dock area, workrooms and shops. The warehouse area consists of gabled roof joists supported by perimeter load-bearing tilt-up concrete panels. The remainder of the building consists of structural steel framing, with masonry exterior walls backed by light gage steel framing. The new addition consists of 18,100 sf. of warehouse space and 10,275 sf. office space, with a deductive alternate to reduce the office addition to 8,315 sf. The office area also includes 1,630 sf. mechanical platform above the corridor ceiling.
The new warehouse addition consists of steel roof framing supported by load-bearing tilt-up concrete wall panels supported by grade beams and drilled shaft foundations. The office addition consists of steel joist framing at the roof supported by steel beams and columns. The roof will be sloped, with gables at each end of the addition.The project also included a 20' x 96' maintenance building. The building consisted of a steel framed roofs supported by steel columns and perimeter load-bearing tilt-up concrete panels.
